Purpose of the Role

The **Basic Operator** plays a key role in ensuring that production lines operate efficiently, safely, and according to quality standards. The successful candidate will perform general production activities, support cleaning procedures, maintain material availability, and contribute to delivering high-quality finished products while following all operational and safety requirements.

Key Responsibilities

Production Operations

* Carry out production line activities according to established operating procedures.

* Assist with equipment start-up and shutdown processes.

* Ensure machinery and work areas are prepared before production begins.

* Support continuous production while maintaining efficiency.

Equipment Start-Up and Shutdown

* Perform pre-start inspections to confirm equipment is clean and safe.

* Verify that production areas meet operational standards before work begins.

* Assist with safe shutdown procedures at the end of production.

Cleaning and Housekeeping

* Clean equipment and production areas according to Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).

* Maintain excellent housekeeping standards throughout the shift.

* Identify and report potential contamination or cleanliness concerns.

* Support workplace organization using 5S principles.

Material Handling

* Ensure packaging materials are continuously supplied to production lines.

* Move materials safely from storage areas to designated production locations.

* Maintain orderly storage areas for improved operational efficiency.

Quality Assurance

* Monitor products and packaging to ensure they meet quality specifications.

* Identify defects or abnormalities during production.

* Report quality issues immediately to supervisors.

* Take appropriate action to prevent defective products from progressing through production.

Administration

* Complete accurate production records during each shift.

* Record production output, rejected products, and operational events.

* Participate in effective shift handovers to maintain production continuity.

Health and Safety

* Follow all workplace safety procedures and legal requirements.

* Wear the required personal protective equipment (PPE).

* Help maintain a safe working environment for all employees.

* Report unsafe conditions, hazards, or incidents immediately.

Hazard Awareness

* Understand workplace hazards associated with manufacturing operations.

* Apply environmental and safety procedures when handling equipment, products, and materials.

* Support initiatives that improve workplace safety and operational excellence.
