Job Overview

An exciting permanent opportunity is available for a qualified Reach Truck / Forklift Driver based in Johannesburg East Rand. The successful candidate will be responsible for the safe and efficient movement of stock throughout the warehouse and yard using both a reach truck and forklift.

This role plays a vital part in warehouse operations by ensuring accurate stock handling, receiving, picking, binning, loading, unloading, and maintaining high safety and quality standards.

Key Objectives

The successful candidate will be expected to:

* Pick, receive and bin products within the warehouse and yard.

* Safely load and unload goods from delivery vehicles.

* Follow all health and safety regulations to maintain a safe working environment.

* Conduct daily inspections of material handling equipment and report any faults immediately.

* Adhere to warehouse schedules to ensure customer orders are completed and dispatched on time.

Main Duties and Responsibilities

Your daily responsibilities will include:

* Perform efficient stock receiving, storage and transfer of incoming and outgoing products.

* Accurately check, scan and receive stock according to company procedures and warehouse policies.

* Verify products and pallet stacks against delivery notes and picking slips.

* Carry out quality inspections, including temperature checks on incoming and outgoing products.

* Update and verify stock information using the computerized warehouse management system.

* Ensure pallets are stacked according to company quality and safety standards.

* Record and report any damaged or non-conforming pallets on the appropriate documentation.

* Support inventory accuracy through regular stock verification activities.

* Participate in the company's 20 Keys Continuous Workplace Improvement Programme and comply with all management systems.

* Maintain excellent housekeeping standards throughout the warehouse.

 Minimum Requirements

Applicants should meet the following requirements:

* Grade 10 qualification.

* Valid Forklift Operator Licence.

* Previous experience operating both a forklift and reach truck.

* Previous experience handling chemicals.

* Experience loading and unloading trucks using a forklift.

* Experience working with products that have expiry dates using FIFO (First In First Out) and LIFO (Last In First Out) stock rotation methods.

* At least 2 years of experience within an FMCG warehouse environment.

* Sound understanding of warehousing and distribution operations.

* Knowledge of warehouse health and safety regulations.
