Job Overview

An exciting opportunity is available for a dedicated and responsible **Delivery Driver** to become part of our Logistics team. The successful candidate will be responsible for the safe and efficient delivery of products to customers, as well as the collection of goods when required. As the face of the company on the road, you will be expected to provide professional service while ensuring deliveries are completed accurately and on time, contributing to customer satisfaction and business success.

This position operates according to customer delivery and collection schedules, meaning working hours are flexible and will vary based on operational requirements. Applicants should therefore be willing to work on a flexible schedule.

 Key Responsibilities

* Deliver a wide range of products to customer locations using the appropriate company delivery vehicles.

* Collect products or goods from suppliers and customers when required.

* Plan and follow the most efficient delivery routes while meeting scheduled delivery times.

* Load and offload products carefully according to company procedures and supervisor instructions.

* Ensure all delivery documentation, including delivery notes and proof of delivery, is signed by the receiving customer and returned to the designated supervisor.

* Complete daily vehicle logs, delivery records, and other operational reports accurately.

* Comply with all company policies, road traffic legislation, and national safety regulations while operating company vehicles.

* Perform daily vehicle inspections before departure to ensure each vehicle is roadworthy and safe for operation.

* Report any mechanical faults, maintenance requirements, or vehicle damage to management immediately to ensure repairs are completed before further use.

* Keep company vehicles clean, well-maintained, and presentable at all times.

* Represent the company professionally by providing excellent customer service during every delivery and collection.

Minimum Requirements

* Previous experience working as a Delivery Driver is essential.

* Valid Code 14 Professional Driver's Licence

* Ability to safely operate Light Delivery Vehicles (LDVs) as well as vehicles up to 8 tonnes

* Strong organisational and time management abilities.

* Excellent attention to detail when handling deliveries, documentation, and vehicle inspections.

* Commitment to maintaining company vehicles in excellent operating condition.

* Ability to carry out basic vehicle safety checks and understand fundamental vehicle mechanics.

* Clean driving history with no serious traffic violations.

* Grade 12 (Matric) certificate.
