Tronox Bursary Overview

The Tronox Bursary 2026 helps top-performing South African students fund their studies. It supports 1st-year students in IT, Electrical Engineering, and Geology. The bursary covers essential academic and living costs. Successful candidates also gain opportunities for growth and industry exposure.

Fields Covered by the Bursary

Tronox does not cover all learning programmes in South Africa. Certain disciplines are covered by the bursary, you have to be registered for one of these programmes in 2026:

  • National Diploma/BSc in Information Technology
  • National Diploma/BSc/BEng in Electrical Engineering
  • BSc Geology

Requirements & Eligibility

Tronox Bursary Eligibility Criteria

The bursary has a specific criteria you have to meet as an interested candiate for their financial application.

You have to be:

  • South African citizens only
  • 1st-year students enrolled at a recognised university or university of technology in 2026
  • Studying one of the mentioned eligible fields.

Preference for applicants from these Traditional Councils will be given: Kwa Dube, Kwa Nzuza, Kwa Mkhwanazi, Ogagwini, Somopho, Macambini,and Madlebe.

Additionally, students from Umhlathuze, Umlalazi, and Mandeni municipalities will hold higher preferance.

Requirements for Tronox Bursary 2026

Candidates must submit all required documents to be considered. Make sure everything is clear, certified, and up to date. Incomplete applications may not be reviewed.

  • Brief 1-page CV 
  • South African ID
  • Grade 12 certificate or Statement of Results
  • University acceptance letter or proof of registration
  • Proof of residence from Traditional Council (not older than 3 months)

Important Notes for Interested Students:

  • Candidates currently or previously registered with any SETA programme are ineligible
  • Pre-screening, psychometric evaluations, and medical assessments may form part of the selection
  • Appointments follow Tronox’s Employment Equity Policy
  • Females and people with disabilities are encouraged to apply
  • If you don’t hear from Tronox within 4 weeks of the closing date, consider your application unsuccessful
