The SPEBS (SAICE Patrons’ Engineering Bursary Scheme) forms part of SAICE’s outreach initiatives to support students and grow engineering talent in South Africa.
SPEBS Bursary: Fields Covered
This bursary is awarded for studies in Civil Engineering (National Diploma) and Civil Engineering (Degree) given that their previous semesters are complete.
Applying for SAICE SPEBS Bursary 2026
Applications must be submitted using the official SPEBS application form available via SAICE. Completed forms, along with supporting documents, must be sent to SAICE via email as no online application has been made available as of yet.
Closing Date for Engineering Bursary
There are two application deadlines each year:
- 31 January (1st semester)
- 31 July (2nd semester)
Late submissions are not accepted. So, apply as soon as possible.
Requirements & Eligibility
Eligibility and Requirements for SAICE Bursary
Applicants must meet the following criteria:
- Must be a South African citizen
- Must be studying Civil Engineering at a recognised institution
- Must have passed all previous subjects
- Must demonstrate financial need and strong academic performance
Additional requirements from the Bursar
As metioned earlier, SAICE is strict on having applicants with completed previous semester. Degree and diploma students ust comply with the following for consideration:
- Diploma students: must have passed S1 (apply from S2–S4)
- Degree students: must have passed first year (apply from 2nd–4th year
Your application must have your certified ID copy, full academic record, and proof of registration attatched to the form.
