About the CING Scholarship

This is a postgraduate scholarship for international students. It's offered for Master of Science (MSc) and some PhD studies in Cyprus.

The programme supports studies in neuroscience, genetics, and related biomedical fields. Applications are currently available for the 2026–2027 academic year. Funding is provided through a tuition waiver and a monthly stipend.

The Cyprus Institute of Neurology and Genetics is a postgraduate research and training institution. CING focuses on neuroscience, genetics, and biomedical sciences.

What the CING Scholarship Offers

The postgraduate scholarship provides successful candidates with full tuition and a stipend that's as follows:

  • Full tuition fee waiver (valued at approximately €8 000 (R156 189.44) based on academic merit and admission requirements.
  • Monthly stipend of up to €1 000 (R19 523.68) for 12 months to assist with accommodation and living expenses in Cyprus.

How to Apply for the PhD/MSc Scholarship?

Interested candidates can apply online via the online portal of CING. A fee of €40 (approximately R781.89) per selected program is applicable. so, if you're applying for 3 programmes, you will pay €120 (R2 345.68).

Requirements & Eligibility

Who Can Apply for the CING Scholarship 2026/27?

To study with the institute, you have to meet the following:

  • Be South African citizens and residents.
  • Hold a recognised bachelor’s degree in a relevant field.
  • Meet English language proficiency requirements (e.g., IELTS Academic, TOEFL iBT, or equivalent).
  • Provide two academic references.
