Eligibility and Requirements for Accounting Bursary

You must be a South African resident with strong academic results in matric or university studies. Also, you should be registered for a SAICA-accredited BCom degree and maintain at least a 60% average.

Work-Back / Training Contract Responsibilities

Once you complete your studies and start your training contract, you’ll be expected to handle real audit work from day one. 

Your responsibilities will include:

• Completing performance reviews as required by SAICA and the firm
• Handling delegated work properly - accurate, on time, and fully your responsibility
• Keeping audit documentation clean, complete, and up to standard
• Clearing audit review notes and fixing issues identified during reviews
• Managing day-to-day admin linked to audit work
• Staying up to date with accounting standards, auditing rules, and legislation
• Assisting with audit prep - logistics, admin, and general planning
• Planning smaller audits (like body corporates and property companies), including risk assessments and audit programs
