Bursary Description
The Compensation Fund Bursary 2026 supports South African students who are permanently disabled COID beneficiaries, their dependants, or dependants of workers fatally injured at work. It helps cover tuition and study costs at recognised universities, TVETs, or CETs. Applications are open throughout 2026, but the current intake closes on 31 March, so eligible applicants should apply early.
Requirements & Eligibility
To be eligible, applicants must submit:
- A fully completed application form
- COID pension or claim number
- Certified copies of parent(s) or guardian(s) ID or death certificate (for dependants)
- Applicant’s own identity document
- Proof of acceptance from a recognised public Post-School Education and Training (PSET) institution
- Enrollment as a full-time student (part-time study is only allowed in exceptional cases for students with disabilities)
- Certification and verification of disability by a healthcare professional or Disability Support Office, including WCL forms or final medical report
All completed applications with required documents must be submitted by hand to the designated office, or courier, or email.
